Séverine Autesserre has been named a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques) by the Government of France. The “Ordre des Palmes Académiques” is an historical knighthood for French academic, cultural, and educational figures.

On January 9, 2021, SIWPS affiliates Hadas Aron and Emily Holland had a new piece on the Capitol Hill insurrection in Duck of Minerva, entitled “Trump’s Budweiser Putsch.” They argue that unlike Trump, European populists rig the system long before the election, and don’t rely on post-election mob violence. On January 1, 2021, Christina Bembenek, Saltzman Institute U.S. Army War College Fellow, was promoted to the rank of Colonel, U.S.Army. A career Military Intelligence officer, COL Bembenek was also selected for brigade command, and will assume her new leadership role in the summer of 2022.
