On June 30, 2020, after a distinguished tenure of over twenty-three years, Richard Betts stepped down from his Directorship of the Institute. But Betts has no plans to retire anytime soon. He will continue his role as the Leo A. Schifrin Professor of War and Peace Studies in the Department of Political Science and the School of International and Public Affairs, and as a valued member of the Institute, writing, teaching and advising.
