Dr. Richard Betts, Director of the Saltzman Institute, has written an article for the website of the Council on Foreign Relations, titled “9/11 Lessons: Intelligence Reform.” The piece, part of CFR’s “Expert Roundup” on lessons learned from the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001, argues that the overhaul of the US intelligence system in the last ten years has reduced the risk of another such attack.

In addition, Dr. Betts was interviewed by CFR about the impact of the upcoming federal budget cuts on the United States’ national security strategy. That piece, “Tightening the Pentagon’s Belt,” has also been published on the Council on Foreign Relations’ website.
