In a new article published by Foreign Affairs, SIWPS member Robert Jervis assesses the Iran nuclear deal and how implementation — or violation — of this deal may play out.

The article, which is adapted from a piece that will soon appear in The Diplomat, asserts that although the United States and its European allies did not get the “best deal possible,” this is not the metric by which the deal should be judged. Jervis contends that the real question is whether the deal is better than a breakdown of negotiations.
