Richard Betts, Director of the Saltzman Institute, was interviewed about his latest book, American Force: Dangers, Delusions, and Dilemmas in National Security (Columbia University Press: 2011), for CSPAN’s Book TV program. In the interview, Dr. Betts discusses the book, the change in US national security issues after the end of the Cold War, and the question of which wars or interventions have been necessary over the past 50 years.
