Rebecca Murphy is Associate Research Scholar in Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies (SIWPS) of Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University, where she teaches courses on contemporary diplomacy. In addition, she is Vice President of Geostrategic Analysis and Crisis Management at First Data Corporation. Previously, Murphy was at JP Morgan Chase after serving with the Government of Canada. Currently, Murphy’s research project investigates diplomacy and military strategy in the Arctic and she is working on an article on the ethics of business in war zones.
She received her Ph.D. from Columbia University and has a M.A and B.A. from the University of Toronto.
