Gesine Weber is a 2024 Visiting Research Scholar at the Arnold A. Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, and a PhD Candidate at the Defense Studies Department of King’s College London. She is a recipient of the Fulbright-Schuman scholarship. Her research interests include European defense, international security, and the EU’s role as a geopolitical actor, particularly in US-China competition and the Indo-Pacific. Gesine appears regularly in European and international media on questions related to European security and geopolitics, and publishes in magazines and newspapers in English, French and German. She also speaks Mandarin Chinese and fills her free time with running, travelling, and reading.
