Daya Benami Narasimhan is a senior at Columbia College pursuing a B.A. in Human Rights with a Concentration in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies. With a mixed Indian, Israeli, Moroccan, and Kurdish Iraqi background, Daya has split her time growing up between the U.S., Israel, India, and the U.K. She has previously interned at the Jerusalem African Community Center, where she worked with asylum seekers, as well as the International Rescue Committee, where she helped support adult education services for refugees. Daya is a native Hebrew speaker, and is proficient in Spanish and Arabic. She is interested in pursuing a career in international human rights law, with a particular focus on humanitarian law, conflict resolution, and migration.
