Ben Guggenheim is a senior at Columbia College studying East Asian Languages and Cultures and Business Management. Ben’s research interests include Sino-American relations, Chinese state-society relations and international development, and cyberspace and digital policy. Ben is a research assistant at the Council on Foreign Relations where he advises the Stephen A. Schwarzman Senior Fellow for China Studies. Previously, he interned under the president and vice president at the Asia Society Policy Institute and worked as a research assistant at the University of Virginia studying Chinese technology and media. He has been awarded a Critical Language Scholarship (China, 2019) and Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship (Chinese, 2019-2020). On campus, Ben teaches local high school students through Columbia Educational Outreach, serves as the Head of Industry Outreach for Columbia Sports, Entertainment and Media, and is a member of Columbia Men’s Club Soccer.
