Arjun Shreekumar is a junior at Columbia College studying history and sustainable development. Before beginning college, he took a gap year to work as a regional field director for the Bernie Sanders campaign and as the state director for a climate change nonprofit. He has since interned for the Sanders Senate staff in the areas of climate and foreign policy and will be working with the Mumbai city government to draft emissions reduction policies in the energy and transportation sectors. On campus, he is the Secretary General for CESIMS, Columbia’s philanthropic Model UN conference and treasurer for Roosevelt @ Columbia. He is interested in the geopolitics of resource shortages and the intersection of climate change and foreign relations, particularly between the US, South Asia, and the Middle East.
