Dr. Anat Berko is lecturer at the International Center for Counter-Terrorism in Herzilya Israel, as well as a consultant to the Israeli National Security Council and for the academic year 2008-2009 is a Visiting Professor at George Washington, University. Previously Berko served in the Israeli Defense Forces for over 20 years and was a senior member of Israel’s intelligence services.  She is widely recognized as an authority on radical Islam and suicide bombers, having conducted extensive personal interviews with captured terrorists over some two decades.  Her most recent book, The Path to Paradise: The Inner World of Suicide Bombers and Their Dispatchers, was published in English in 2008 and is based on her extensive interviews with terrorists and suicide bombers held in Israel, including the founder of Hamas and other key figures.
