On September 6, Saltzman Institute member Erica Lonergan had a new co-authored article published in Contemporary Security Policy titled, “Reassessing coercion theory through the lens of the space domain.”

We are pleased to share that Stephanie Char (CU PhD ’25) has received the Nuno P. Monteiro Best Dissertation Award from the American Political Science Association’s International Relations Theory section for her dissertation, “Scaring the Monkey by Killing the Chicken: Effectiveness of Countercriticism Coercion by China.” You can view the announcement here, and Char’s research and teaching here.

On July 15, Saltzman Institute member Jason Healey had an article published in Lawfare titled, “Driven by AI, the Future of Cybersecurity Will Resemble the Past.” The article argues that AI in the near term may drive cybersecurity back to its roots, when widespread vulnerabilities, not deceptive intrusions, drove incidents.
