SIWPS Member Austin Long has been in the media a lot recently, talking Syria, Russia, chemical weapons, and Al-Qaeda.

On Wednesday, September 11, Professor Long was on Monocle 24, an internet-based radio service out of London, giving the Russian perspective on the Syrian chemical weapons negotiations. His interview can be heard in full here, starting at timestamp 9:28.

On Sunday, September 15, Professor Long appeared on Arise TV America to discuss the threat of Al-Qaeda post-Bin Laden, as well as the effectiveness drone strikes have had on the strength of the organization. His interview can be seen here, starting at timestamp 33:11.

And finally, on Tuesday, September 17, Professor Long was quoted in a piece from McClatchy discussing the evidence presented in the U.N. report on the use of chemical weapons in Syria. The piece, “U.N. calculations of poison rockets’ paths implicate Syrian guard unit,” can be read in full here.
