Cassidy Murray is a senior in the Dual BA Program between Columbia University and Trinity College Dublin. At Columbia, she studies Political Science, while at Trinity she majored in Middle Eastern and European Languages and Cultures with concentrations in Arabic and Russian. Cassidy’s research interests include international criminal law, terrorism, ethnic politics, and political violence. Last summer, she interned at the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, specializing in Congressional Affairs. Previously, she founded an NGO to support refugees from Syria and Afghanistan. As part of this initiative, she also established a school for Afghan women and girls in Athens, Greece, where she taught English and women’s studies. Having grown up traveling across 125 countries, Cassidy is an avid language enthusiast with fluency in Italian and proficiency in Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. Outside the classroom, she enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
