Melina Rozehkhan is a dual degree student at Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University, originally from Germany and Iran, majoring in Political Science with a focus on international relations, political psychology, and social movements. As the child of refugees and a first-generation student, she is committed to amplifying marginalized voices through research and advocacy. At the Saltzman Institute for War and Peace Studies, she works as a research assistant examining the role of social media during Iran’s Women, Life, Freedom movement. As a RISE Scholar, Melina conducts independent research on the role of women in democratic transitions in Iran and Tunisia, exploring how gendered mobilization and digital media shape protest dynamics. She is also a Social Impact Fellow, combining research with visual storytelling to highlight women’s voices in the Middle East. In her free time, she enjoys filmmaking, photography, boxing, reading, and running.
