Thomas Zev Huneycutt is a senior in the Columbia University-Tel Aviv University Dual BA Program. At TAU, his major in Middle East Studies dovetailed with contemporary geopolitics through two years of direct exposure to a Middle Eastern war; he complements these robust experiences with an Economics-Political Science joint major at Columbia. His primary intellectual focus concerns how technology, economics, and institutions shape modern warfare and diplomacy. Dedicated to enhancing U.S. national security, he was recently a Legislative Intern for U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (TX), where his analysis informed a bipartisan resolution in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, a formal letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and multiple Congressional Delegations to domestic military installations and foreign countries. Thomas’ ambition is to support decision-makers in crafting and executing prudent policy which best advances U.S. interests.
