Michael Solomon Rubin is from Chicago, Illinois and is a junior at Columbia College double-majoring in Political Science and East Asian Languages and Cultures. His research interests include East Asian security issues, Sino-American relations, alliance dynamics, and the Belt and Road Initiative’s infrastructural, digital, and military expansion. In addition to studying abroad at Peking University in Beijing, Michael has interned under Senior Fellow Mira Rapp-Hooper at the Council on Foreign Relations and Asian Security Director Dan Blumenthal at the American Enterprise Institute. On campus, he is involved with the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review, Undergraduate Recruitment Committee, CU United Against Inequity in Disease, and Columbia/Barnard Hillel.
