Kwolanne Felix was born in Haiti and raised in Miami Florida. She is a junior at Columbia College studying History. Her research interest includes international development, decolonial and gender-responsive frameworks, the African diaspora, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond the classroom, she was a research assistant for the Columbia Department of Political Science, interned at the Council of Foreign Relations, and the Malala Fund. She is active on campus, where she advocates for marginalized students’ access to resources, and founded the Inclusion and Diversity Committee of Columbia College Student Council. In her free time, she writes a column for the Columbia Spectator where she brings her nuanced and intersectional perspectives.
