Gulnazik Bakhramova is a current Social Impact Fellow at Columbia World Projects and a junior at Columbia University majoring in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and Comparative Politics, and with an academic interest in Post-Soviet Eastern Eurasian Studies. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, her commitment to educational equity is shaped by her own experience navigating educational challenges and by her time as a U.S. State Department exchange student in the Bay Area, California. Gulnazik co-founded Kel Chai Ich, a nonprofit that mentors young women from rural Kyrgyzstan, breaking educational barriers and helping women overcome societal and cultural challenges to pursue higher education through Educational Programs, Mentorship, and Site Visits. She was awarded a Projects for Peace grant through Middlebury College to continue working on her nonprofit in rural Kyrgyzstan in the summer of 2025.
