Anthony Costanzo is a Junior at the School of General Studies double-majoring in East Asian Studies and Political Science. He is a Marine Corps veteran, having served with the State Department in Rome, Italy; Milan, Italy; Chengdu, China; Shenyang, China; Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Anthony has devoted his academic career to East Asian Security and Chinese Foreign Policy. In particular, he seeks to deconstruct contemporary Chinese strategic decision-making by analyzing China’s domestic political environment, socio-cultural idiosyncrasies, and historical memories. Additionally, he is currently taking Chinese at Columbia.

Anthony currently serves as the President of Military Veterans of Columbia University, and formerly held the position of the Student-Veteran Representative on the General Studies Student Council. He also volunteers with Service2School, Student Veterans of America, and VITAL, passionately advocating for veterans at the local and national levels. In his off time, Anthony enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and has trained at various academies in China, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the United States.
