Ananya Bhatia is a junior at Columbia College majoring in Urban Studies and Human Rights. On campus, she serves on the boards of the Undergraduate Law Review and the Eric H. Holder Jr. Initiative for Civil and Political Rights, and works as a Writing Center Peer Fellow. Her research interests include ethnic conflict, unlawful detention, and the prosecution of war crimes. She has interned at the Orleans Public Defenders Office and at Reprieve, where she worked on both local and foreign cases involving incarceration, capital punishment, and civilian harm in conflict zones. After graduation, Ananya plans to attend law school and pursue a career that integrates her interests in international criminal law and social justice.
