Alexandre Seara is a senior pursuing a Dual BA in Political Science at Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University. His academic interests lie in transatlantic relations and the emotional dimensions of international affairs—particularly how memory, trauma, and identity influence diplomacy and peacemaking. He wishes to research how the emotional legacy of the 1940s may have shaped European diplomatic negotiations and contributed to the institutional design of the European Union. Seara has held policy and research roles across several key institutions, including the French National Assembly, the Portuguese Embassy in France, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Embassy in Lisbon, and the Portuguese Parliament. He is the founder of Transatlantic, a nonprofit promoting cooperation between Europe and the Americas, a researcher with the Andalus Committee, and an active member of the Cercle France-Amériques.
